Notice of bus service impacts on Friday 17 February 2023
Dear Principal and school community,
Impacts to school bus services on Friday 17 February 2023
Kinetic has received notification from the Transport Workers’ Union (TWU) and an Independent Bargaining Representative that a 24-hour work stoppage will occur from 12.05am Friday 17 February to 12.05am Saturday 18 February 2023.
We will once again endeavour to run as many school buses as possible to ensure student safety.
Significant impacts to all other services will occur and students, parents, and staff should be advised that if they currently take a public bus service, they will need to make alternative arrangements on the day.
We encourage passengers to make alternative transport arrangements where possible or allow extra time for their journey. Please also be patient and respect our team members who are working on the day.
Kinetic values our ongoing partnership with your school community and we apologise sincerely to our passengers and community for the substantial impact this will have on Tweed and Gold Coast commuters.
Our priority will be to meet urgently with the TWU and bargaining representatives in order to reach a new agreement and avoid further disruption to bus services.
