At Pimpama State Secondary College, the Swimming, Cross Country and Track & Field Carnivals are more than sporting events. They are important opportunities for students to live our motto, Together We Succeed, and demonstrate our PRIDE values of Perseverance, Respect, Integrity, Dedication and Empathy.
Swimming Carnival
Held in early Term 1 at the Runaway Bay Sports Centre, the Swimming Carnival begins the year with strong house spirit and enthusiasm. Students of all abilities are encouraged to participate, whether competing in events or supporting their peers. The carnival promotes dedication in competition, empathy in encouragement and respect for all participants, helping create a positive and inclusive start to the year.
Cross Country Carnival
Hosted on the school grounds in late Term 1, the Cross Country Carnival is a celebration of perseverance. Students are encouraged to challenge themselves across a range of distances and fitness levels. Whether aiming to qualify for district competition or contributing house points through participation, students demonstrate integrity, commitment and school pride.
Track and Field Carnival
Held in late Term 2 at the Runaway Bay Sports Centre, the Track & Field Carnival showcases athletic ability, teamwork and house spirit. With events including sprints, relays, high jump and shot put, students have the opportunity to demonstrate dedication and perseverance in their chosen events. Senior students also play an important role in supporting and encouraging younger students throughout the day.
Together, these carnivals build a strong sense of belonging, healthy competition and shared achievement. They reflect the values of our school community and our commitment to striving together and succeeding together.
