At Pimpama State Secondary College, the Swimming, Cross Country, and Track & Field Carnivals are more than just sporting events—they are key opportunities to live out our motto, “Together We Succeed,” and to demonstrate our PRIDE values: Perseverance, Respect, Integrity, Dedication, and Empathy.
Swimming Carnival
Held in early Term 1 at the Runaway Bay Sports Centre, the Swimming Carnival launches our year with house spirit and enthusiasm. Students of all abilities are encouraged to participate—whether aiming for a podium finish or supporting their peers from the stands. This event highlights Dedication in competition, Empathy in support, and Respect across all levels of involvement, contributing to a strong and inclusive start to the year.
Cross Country Carnival
Hosted on school grounds in late Term 1, the Cross Country Carnival is a celebration of Perseverance. Students challenge themselves over varied terrain, with participation encouraged regardless of fitness level. Whether racing to qualify for school district team or walking for house points, students show Integrity through effort and commitment, all while building camaraderie and school pride.
Track & Field Carnival
Taking place in late Term 2 at the Runaway Bay Sports Centre, the Track & Field Carnival is a showcase of athleticism and school spirit. Featuring a full range of events—from sprints and relays to high jump and shot put—this carnival allows students to demonstrate Dedication and Perseverance in their chosen disciplines. Senior students also have the opportunity to show Leadership and Empathy as they support and guide younger students throughout the day.
Together, these carnivals foster a strong sense of belonging, healthy competition, and shared achievement. They reflect who we are as a school community—committed to striving together and succeeding together.
